Introduction

Korea is a very interesting place to visit and a fascinating place to live. You can look at your experience in Korea as a chance to either learn a new language and culture, or to save a lot of money for future endeavous. Saving money is very easy given the low cost of living and the benefits your teaching job provides. Conversely, it can be a type of working vacation. Your year in Korea can be whatever you want to make of it. Korean people are generally very kind and welcoming. They are generally very interested in foreigners and their beliefs and way of life, so it is easy to penetrate the culture and make Korean friends, especially in the big cities where most young people speak English. Most young Koreans are eager to spend time with foreigners and learn about foreign countries.

Korea is not like living in a western country. As in any foreign country, the differences will be at times frustrating and at times fascinating. But overall, most people love their time in Korea. If they didn’t, we wouldn’t be in business

Health & Sport

Health is very important to Koreans. For this reason, exercising and eating properly is easy, much easier than doing so back home where unhealthy foods and lifestyles are rapidly becoming the norm. Korean food is practically devoid of sugar, salt and fat, with the result that most people lose a considerable amount of weight simply by eating the local cuisine.

Activities such as hiking, jogging, volleyball, basketball and soccer are very popular with Koreans of all ages. The hiking is particularly good in Korea as nearly 70% of Korean land is composed of mountains. This means that wherever you are in the country, you are looking at a mountain. Hiking in Korea is one of the best ways to meet people, be part of the culture and stay fit.

Also, martial arts such as Tae Kwon Do (the Korean national sport), Hapkido, Kung Fu and Kickboxing are practiced in Korea. Many teachers enroll in such activities to get in shape and meet Koreans.
